SPECIALTY

Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, typically beginning in a woman’s 40s but sometimes earlier, characterized by hormonal fluctuations that can influence brain chemistry and neurotransmitters that cause a variety of physical and emotional symptoms. Some other symptoms include:

  • irregular periods,

  • hot flushes,

  • night sweats,

  • sleep disturbances,

  • mood swings,

  • changes in libido,

  • anxiety,

  • depression,

  • irritability,

  • difficulties with memory or concentration, and many more.

Understanding these connections is a crucial step in recognizing that these experiences are biological, not simply “in your head,” despite what doctors, well-meaning friends, and family may tell you.
Awareness and education about this natural stage help women manage symptoms effectively and make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

My goal is to educate, support, and empower women with clear, evidence-based information about the link between hormonal changes and mental health.

You are not alone in this journey.

Certified Mental Health and Nutrition Clinical Specialist (CMNCS)

Instead of just focusing on mental health therapies alone, I incorporate nutrition to help give you a balanced body and mind. Studies indicate a strong link between mental health and food choices. Eating foods rich in omega-3, antioxidants, and vitamins can help with stress, anxiety, and depression. Add more whole foods like fruits, veggies, legumes, and nuts for better mental well-being. Simple dietary adjustments can improve overall health. Prioritize nutrition for a healthier body and mind.
